The New South Wales Department of Environment, Conservation and Climate Change (“DECCW”) has announced that it intends to prosecute solariums that have breached the Radiation Control Amendment (Tanning Units) Regulation 2009.

The maximum penalty for an offence can be as high as $11,000.

If you have received a warning letter from the DECCW, or are facing  prosecution, legal assistance is available from the Sydney-based environmental law firm, Concordia Pacific.

The principal of Concordia Pacific is a former prosecutor with the DECCW, and has 30 years of experience in environmental law.

The firm can assist solarium operators to devise compliance strategies so that they can avoid being prosecuted in the first instance; if legal proceedings are taken, Concordia Pacific can assist you to minimize the consequences.

Concordia Pacific can be contacted at (02) 9233 4914; or at www.concordiapacific.com.au.
